What's That Ringing?
So there's this new high-pitched "mosquito" ring tone that supposedly only teens can hear. As people age, their ears also age and become less able to pick up higher tones. Most people over the age of 25 cannot hear the tone. I can and I haven't seen 25 in a while. I thought my ears weren't that great as half the time, I can't even hear my own cell phone ring. Maybe I just have "young ears".  I'd happily trade them for a "young waistline".

I can actually hear that one. Some of those tones I cant.

This isn't new. Or at least, not brand new. I've heard about it for years.

I have not heard it go off in my classroom--usually, kids put their phones on vibrate. I can often hear *that*, but they're sneaky little buggers and I don't always figure out whose phone is buzzing.

However, a couple years ago BJ clicked on that site or a similar one and played the tone. I heard it just fine and said so. He didn't hear it.

So he made it louder. And louder. OUCH. Then he tried to "trick" me and pretend that he wasn't clicking on it to see if I was just faking it. That was a painful 15 minutes or so.

Icky noise. And I still have to ask people to repeat themselves. O heard the tone clearer than the people talking.

Great news! Jodi and I must be super young again! We can both hear the awful sound. It reminds me of the hearing test tones from when I was five.

I can hear it, and it is annoying, but it's not THAT bad. So maybe my ears are just getting old.
