Sad Day in DC

Shooting at the Holocaust Museum. 2 dead.

Even sadder irony - when I came across this story, I was listening to Henry Gorecki's 3rd Symphony, known as "The Symphony of Sorrowful Songs". It is scored for solo soprano and orchestra and was inspired by a Polish lament from a mother for her son lost in war and the words of 18-year-old Helena Wanda Błażusiakówna, a highland woman incarcerated on 25 September, 1944 in a Gestapo prison. It read "O Mamo nie płacz nie—Niebios Przeczysta Królowo Ty zawsze wspieraj mnie" (Oh Mamma do not cry—Immaculate Queen of Heaven support me always).

I had to fight back the sniffles in my office.

I can't make a post about this - I am too upset.
And it is PuppyBoy's birthday - I just can't do it.
